Overview

Kerio Phone is an application for making audio and video calls through Kerio Operator. It can be installed on Microsoft Windows and Mac OS, or it can be accessed via the web using most of the modern browsers. This is supported for Kerio Operator 2.5 and above. To learn how to use Kerio Phone to make calls, follow the steps below.  

Warning: Kerio Phone is not intended for emergency calls. The call may not provide accurate location data, may be misdirected to the wrong emergency response center or the emergency response center may not be able to accurately determine your location. Use Kerio Phone only as a last resort and make sure you tell the emergency response center your location.

Process

1. In Kerio Phone, click on <Your name> in the upper right corner.
2. Select the Computer extension. Kerio Phone uses the extension for calls.
   
   
   
   
3. Again, in Kerio Phone, click on <Your name> in the upper right corner but this time click on Settings.
4. Go to the Sound and Video section.
   
   
   
   
5. When the browser pop-up shows up, allow your browser to use your microphone and camera.
6. In the Ringing drop-down list, select a device where incoming calls ring.
7. In the Speakers drop-down list, select a device for call audio.
8. Test the echo of your microphone.
9. To initiate a video call, in Kerio Phone, type a number or select a contact.
10. Click on the  icon and a window with video transmission will open.

Enabling Call Notification

1. Click on <Your name>.
2. Navigate to Settings > General.
3. In the Notifications section, select Enable call notifications.
4. Allow your browser to send notifications to Kerio Phone.
5. Click on Test to see if notifications work.
6. Click on Save.
